In Nepal, start your journey by flying from Kathmandu to Lukla and then hike far up to Gokyo Ri (5,357 m) from where you cross over the dreaded Cho La Pass (5,330m) and then over and up to Everest Basecamp (5,364 m). Hike up to Kala Patthar (5,643 m) for a fantastic view of Mount Everest (if not covered in clouds).
